Position Summary:
Responsible for various operations required for plastic injection molding processes and equipment. Including development, preventative maintenance and repair of injection molds and associated dies and fixtures.
Job Responsibilities:
* Requires the use and/or interpretation of tool and engineering drawings, sketches, blue prints, templates, models, descriptions and manuals.
* Sets up and operates all machine tools in the shop.
* Machines and assembles complex tools and dies.
* Performs difficult machining operations to precise specifications.
* Repairs or duplicates metal parts as required.
* Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department.
* Maintains knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
* Provides any special information related to special tools, fixtures, or equipment for proper system functions.
* Works with the engineering department members to insure the proper exchange of data and information for a successful operating system.
* Observes all safety rules.
* Keeps work station in order.
* Supports team objectives.
Requirements:
Skills and Experience Required:
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Prefer a total of five years in blow mold or injection mold tool and die making (can be a combination experience and education).
* Ability to use machine bench tools, hand tools and measuring tools.
* Knowledge to set up and operate lathes, mills, drills and grinders.
* Calculate figures and amounts, basic algebra and geometry.
* Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
* Positive attitude to work in a team oriented environment.
* Flexible to the demands of the work schedule.
* Physically able to perform all facets of the job.
* Must be able to lift, move or carry 50 pounds.
* Self starter with a sense of urgency regarding the assigned duties.
