Determine inventory placement using forecast and historical data
· Review customer specific programs to ensure on time and complete goals are met
· Research and recommend container unloading to ensure placement effectiveness
· Monitor placement of inbound inventory from production
· Minimize transfer costs
· Minimize storage usage at high cost providers
Manage warehouse replenishment
· Calculate material master to determine minimum, maximum and replenishment quantities
· Determine optimal location for replenishing material by utilizing Customer SMU group and ensuring optimal location based on forecasted volume and shipping mode
· Determine optimal pick paths
· Maintain “pick” and “put” away sequence logic
Responsible for reporting on warehouse capacity, utilization and forecast requirements (i.e. – material consolidation, bin utilization and turns reporting)
Manage warehouse labor standards and forecast labor requirements, standards responsibilities include forklift picks, packages loaded per hour, cycle counts per hour and line items picked per hour
Manage barcode, RF and RFID systems
Management responsibilities to include outside warehouse staff, shipping planner and others as assigned
Manage warehouse equipment maintenance and leases to ensure optimal performance (i.e. – forklifts, material master, RF)
Assist in implementing customer compliance requirements per specifications
Requires regular attendance to perform essential elements as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.
Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.
Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Industrial Engineering or Warehouse Science.
- 8-10 years experience in distribution and warehouse environment.
- SAP knowledge/experience preferred.
- Previous management experience preferred.
- Six Sigma training and experience preferred.
