Position Summary:
This exempt position reports to the Director Operations Finance, and is located in Wichita, Kansas.
Job Summary
Purpose of job is to prepare, manage, communicate, and audit product cost estimates within the SAP integrated computer system and provide analysis support for special projects for the Outdoor Solutions finance department.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide finance support and analysis for special projects relating to the Outdoor Solutions division
- Assist with preparation of annual product cost plan and annual cost center budgets
- Develop monthly financial forecasts
- Manage and audit SAP product cost system
- Initiate costing process for new materials after all other ECN tasks have been completed. Audit for accuracy and completeness for all required costing fields
- Provide current monthly cost estimates for all materials and develop future cost estimates used in the annual plan process
- Review daily costing reports for incomplete/missing tasks for open Engineering Change Notices (ECN’s) and communicate issues to responsible parties
- Conduct emergency ad-hoc/initial product cost procedures as they arise to expedite with least impact upon total inventory valuation/other departments/systems
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Receiving, Distribution, Production Control, Engineering, and Accounts Payable as required
- Identify and document system improvements and enhancements
- Provide support for integration of new companies into the Outdoor Solutions’ SAP system
- Manage and audit DIPIT process (Direct Import Process Improvement Team)
- Insure all appropriate cost element fields for the material are accounted for and are complete and accurate
- Prepare final cost estimate, again reviewing for completeness and accuracy
- Prepare and upload journals, reconcile related accounts and assist in monthly close process
- Provide documentation and maintain related files and records in an orderly manner appropriate for audit and other research
Requirements:
- BS in Accounting (CPA or MBA preferred)
- 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting/finance
- Integrated system experience (SAP preferred)
- Must be detail oriented, accurate, and possess excellent follow-up and organizational skills
- Must have strong communication skills, both written and oral, and demonstrate interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with all levels of personnel
- Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
