Position Summary:
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB:
Aid in the aesthetic development of new products from concept development, brand identity and product aesthetics. Participate in new product development by contributing to the overall aesthetics, color, branding, graphic design and application to the product. Coordinate with other resources to accomplish project goals.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
Work with engineering and marketing teams to design compelling, cutting edge product while maintaining a high level of responsibility and professionalism.
Conduct product and market research as needed to assist in strategic planning activities. Use gathered data to analyze market and trend information.
Execute design projects with a high level of creativity.
Apply aesthetic sensitivity to form, detail and product graphics
Define product finishes including colors, materials, textures and processes.
Contribute creative, fresh and innovative solutions to engineering process.
Assist international engineering group as needed for design innovation in the international market
Requires regular attendance to perform essential elements as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.
Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.
Requirements:
BA or BFA in Apparel Design or related field preferred or equivalent experience in knowledge and understanding of design principles
Strong visual communication skills, quick sketch, rendering, product graphics, etc.
In depth knowledge of textile design, fabric content, printing and dyeing methods
Proficiency in PhotoShop and Illustrator preferred
Solid understanding of garment construction and textiles, including price points and merchandising needs
Experience working in the sports apparel industry highly preferred, men’s and women’s product lines
Posses an understanding of market/fashion trends as they relate to products, styles and color
Strong listening skills and experience assimilating product feedback
