Position Summary:
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB
Responsible for managing and selling into all channels of distribution within this specific territory. The Field Sales Manager (FSM) will have direct account responsibility for regional Sporting Goods stores, Specialty Stores, Outdoor Stores, and any other designated accounts. The FSM will also be responsible for growth of account base within this same territory.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
Develop and establish new Coleman accounts through on-site visits. Conduct necessary customer research by utilizing sales tools and account listings to identify potential future accounts.
Manage Coleman policies and buying terms with new and existing customers, develop and maintain product listings, sell in and document programs and pricing.
Work to achieve and surpass territory sales goals.
Work with new customers to ensure all necessary forms and agreements are completed correctly, including Terms and Conditions of Sale agreement and Credit Application.
Manage account detail including customer pricing records, advertising records for selected accounts, and manage CSF budget and requests.
Prepare and submit accurate monthly sales forecasts and manage selling to ensure that the forecasted numbers are attained.
Direct account sell-in and manage Coleman profitability for each.
Manage and update order status and back orders follow-up for all accounts.
Responsible for day-to-day activities of all Coleman accounts.
Provide consistent and accurate territory feedback to Sales Management, Product Management, and Marketing Management teams.
Control travel/expense spending at or below annual budget.
Obtain maximum distribution of Coleman products throughout the territory.
Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself, of others, or to property. Defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.
Requires regular attendance to perform essential elements as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.
Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.
Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Business with concentration in marketing or equivalent experience.
3-5 years successful selling experience of consumer products, preferably in outdoor markets.
Demonstrated passion for the outdoor market and products.
Presentation skills within consumer product and/or category management.
Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
Flexibility and creativity in handling all types of selling and territory management.
Advanced Computer skills and knowledge of Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Experience in establishing positive business and account relationships.
Physical Requirement
Must have the physical skills to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and make presentations.
Must be able to travel 50% - 70% of the time in local territory.
