Position Description

Provides technical support for equipment and sub-equipment. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufactures manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include determining the location of faults in dense circuitry, isolating malfunctions and incorporating engineering changes. Maintains repairs, inspects, troubleshoots, and programs systems equipment or components. Reviews, analyzes, develops, prepares and applies engineering, technical and maintenance specifications, policies, standards and procedures. Organizes, analyzes and prepares reports and presentations of technical data and information. Plans and performs tests and evaluations of systems and/or system components. Compiles, processes, reduces, and analyzes test data and results. The Electronics Technician IV may provide technical guidance to lower level technicians.

Education/Experience Requirements

Education: Associates degree from an accredited institution in electronics technology or an electronics discipline.

Experience: Six (6) years of practical experience with two (2) years specific involvement with the LAMPS MK III or other data link systems.

OR

Education: High school diploma or U.S. Navy Electronics A or C school or equivalent.

Experience: Shall have minimum of eight (8) years of experience in troubleshooting and repair of electronic systems to component level. Four (4) of the eight (8)years of experience shall be with LAMPS MK III or other data link systems.
