Position Description

Provides technical support for system equipment and sub-equipment. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufactures manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include determining the location of faults in dense circuitry, isolating malfunctions and incorporating engineering changes. Maintains repairs, inspects, troubleshoots, and programs systems equipment or components. Reviews, analyzes, develops, prepares and applies engineering, technical and maintenance specifications, policies, standards and procedures. Organizes, analyzes and prepares reports and presentations of technical data and information. Plans and performs tests and evaluations of systems and/or system components. Compiles, processes, reduces, and analyzes test data and results. The Electronics Technician V may provide technical guidance to lower level technicians.

Education Requirements

Associates degree from an accredited institution in electronics technology or an electronics discipline.

Experience Requirements

Eight (8) years of practical experience with two (2) years specific involvement with the LAMPS MK III, or other, data link systems.
