3691BR Quality Manager - Grand Island, NE Grand Island NE - Nebraska Quality Salaried Less than 10% 1st shift Reporting to the Plant Manager this position is responsible for managing the Quality Control department to assure the manufacturing and shipment of quality products according to established standards and specifications, within acceptable cost guidelines. Duties include but are not limited to: Establish, maintain, and improve in-process quality systems, plans and verification/evaluation audits to ensure high product and service quality to customers. Develop and provide leadership for capability assessments, quality planning, audit system development, and statistical analyses to ensure all processing steps produce the planned result at each operation. Using statistical analysis, capability assessments, audits and reliability models, ensure all precuts met and/or exceed design/system performance requirements and customer expectations. Provide leadership and guidance in the development of quality standards and critical-to-quality characteristics for product and process definition and developments. Establish meaningful quality measurement criteria and timely, visible monitoring and communication mechanisms. Working closely with the manufacturing area managers, provide leadership and guidance to maximize quality standards, production output, schedule compliance while minimizing cost. Establish and maintain a system for the control of defective parts including possible use, disposition and responsibility for defect and rework with those responsible to prevent recurrence and control cost. Prepare and submit reports on quality ratings and cost to keep management informed. Set-up and evaluate finished units for adherence to quality standards. Lead the Plant`s effort on Quality System Management. Lead the Plant`s Quality Pillar in World Class Manufacturing. Review, audit and improve process definition and compliance. Bachelors Degree. Minimum of 5 years of quality or manufacturing engineering experience. Minimum of 5 years of previous supervisory or management experience. Lean Manufacturing experience. Experience with Heavy Industrial or Automotive equipment. Good verbal, written and presentation skills. ASQC or equivalent quality management certification.
