Implement Quality initiatives at the Wichita plant and at suppliers. Implement and improve supplier performance ratings. Coordinate and integrate activity with SQA engineers. Ensure capabilities of processes both in-plant and at suppliers. Ensure effectiveness of supplier corrective actions.
Representative Activities: (Series of brief statements that describe only the major activities for which the position is accountable)
Perform supplier evaluations utilizing CNH Audit tools AVSQ, PA, Paint, special audit questions. Establish supplier Quality Improvement Plans. Cooperate with and support the plant purchasing, and materials managers to analyze and assess critical supplier production and process control issues. Identify improvements and drive corrective actions using a 7-step problem solving process. Guarantee that suppliers meet new product and process requirements by following the Part Approval process. Monitor quality objectives and provide relevant reports and feedback. Support current product management for root cause analysis and supplier corrective action. Support global product development process for new product development and new product launch utilizing the part approval process.
Position Dimensions: (Describe the impact of the position on the organization and the magnitude of the incumbents responsibilities)
High level technical position within the SQA Network. Typically has technical expertise in one or more commodities, i.e. machining, castings, plastic parts, electrical items.
Responsible for small to medium sized programs, plant support and platform support.
Works with a supply base of 350 suppliers, with up to 20 identified as high priority at any given time.
Typical Decisions Made: Describe typical decisions made. Include authority for decisions regarding issues of policy., procedure, administrative matters, and personnel
Review and approval of corrective actions. Review and approval of supplier corrective actions resulting from PIRs, plant requests or Current Product Teams. Extent of requirements needed to satisfy part approval requirements. When to begin improvement activities with suppliers and the extent of actions and activities needed to demonstrate improvement. 4-year College/University technical or business degree.
5 + years of quality and/or manufacturing experience.
Professional certification (CQE, CQA, CQMgr, CMfgE, etc.) is desirable.
Excellent verbal and written communications and presentation skills.
Excellent computer skills: WPS, E-Viewer, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, statistical software, etc.
