Brief Description of the Job:
Responsible for overall appearance of assigned Community Center`s interior by maintaining cleanliness and organization. Additionally responsible for maintaining outside grounds with assistance from parks and grounds staff.
- Job Duties
Clean Inside Buildings (60%): Clean inside building, including sweeping and removing all trash, emptying trash into dumpster, mopping floors, cleaning restrooms, replacing paper products, waxing and stripping linoleum floors. Move furniture, dust blinds and furniture, and remove stains and spots. Required to update inventory and communicate supplies needed for stock.
Maintain Exterior of Building (30%): Maintain exterior of building and all grounds in an orderly and neat fashion, including the basketball court, playing field, and playgrounds, as well as other assigned areas by picking up litter, sweeping sidewalks and front door mat, cleaning windows, etc. Water plants as needed.
Provide Inventory Management & Event Support (10%): Maintain inventory of supplies, and notify responsible parties of ordering needs. Set up and break down rooms for events and programs as scheduled.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Overall Strength Demands: Medium strength demands include exerting 20-50 pounds occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly.
Physical Demands: Continuously requires vision, foot controls, balancing, hearing, and twisting. Frequently requires standing, walking, lifting, carrying, handling, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and talking. Rarely requires fine dexterity and sitting.
Machines, Tools, Equipment, and Work Aids: Vacuum cleaner, broom, dust mop, bucket cleaning products, cloths/rags, buffing machine, scrub machine, telephone, and vehicle.
Computer Equipment and Software: Electronic time sheets.
Overall Working Conditions: Disagreeable: Frequent exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards.
Environmental Factors: Daily exposure to respiratory hazards. Monthly exposure to physical hazards. Seasonal exposure to extreme temperature and wetness and/or humidity.
Health and Safety: Constant exposure to chemical hazards. Rare exposure to electrical hazards, communicable diseases, and physical danger or abuse.
Primary Work Location: Community Center Building and outdoor facilities.
Protective Equipment Required: Gloves, face mask, and eye protection.
Occasionally requires time pressures and frequent change of tasks. Rarely requires performing multiple tasks simultaneously and working closely with others as part of a team.
Formal Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience: No experience required.
Driver`s License Required: Class D South Carolina license.
Certifications and Other Requirements: None.
