Brief Job Description
Manage City of Greenville Employee Health Center’s medical program. Actively participate and develop wellness programs. Provide health education to employees. Direct annual Personal Health Risk Assessments. Encourage personal health and preventative maintenance. Supervise physical testing of approximately 900 employees and job applicants each year. Review, analyze, and make recommendations and referrals to employees related to blood work and medical findings. Administer first aid to injured and ill employees. Responsible for First Report of Injuries, OSHA 300 log, and required annual posting of OSHA 300A. Maintain oral and written communication between employee, doctor, supervisor, and Worker’s Compensation TPA. Make appropriate physician referrals for work-related injuries. Ensure compliance with City policies, federal/state/local laws, rules, and regulations. Maintain DOT drug testing program and record keeping. Conduct pre-placement and random hair drug testing, including recordkeeping. Data entry in Occupational Health Manager (OHM) for nursing notes related to office visits and treatment. Facilitate safe job placement and maintain compliance with government regulations. Protect employees against health hazards in their work environment. Physical assessment abilities is a must.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required. Certified Occupational Health Nurse – Specialist (COHN-S) is preferred. Over four years Occupational Health experience preferred. Must possess a current and active SC RN license, Adult CPR certification, and AED Certification. Occupational Hearing Conservation Certification (CAOHC) and Certification in NIOSH Spirometry must be obtained within 1 year from date of hire. Certification in Sample Hair Collection (Psychemedics) must be completed within 1 month. Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) in Occupation Health related topics to maintain RN license. Valid SC driver’s license is required.
