CTL is seeking a Technologist to help to execute consistency of fit, quality, and safety.
Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
Duties & Responsibilities:
As required, actively support Technical Design Supervisors to conduct Market research to ensure that their specialized area is comparable to competition
Producing accurate and detailed spec packages including: specs, construction, grade rules, fabric, trims and notion details
Adhering to the critical path to ensure all spec packages are delivered in a timely manner
Pre-plan all technical details prior to fit session by accurately measuring garments and comparing construction and styling details to required specifications
Communicating and identifying all issues during fit sessions
Analyzing and approving the fit of garments on mannequins and or live models and providing technical knowledge of corrections using digital photos and or flat pattern sketches
Specifying sewing construction details, quality and safety standards to overseas clients
Timely approval of fit and pre-production samples for domestic and import vendors
Managing and organizing workload based on daily in-house reports
Monitoring and following up with vendors to ensure conformity to client Standards and Specifications
Identify opportunities to streamline the process and executing best practices
Other responsibilities as required
Skills Required:
Government regulations
Pattern-making skills
Fit analysis of garments on mannequins and/or live models
Quality Assurance
Grading, textile and sewing construction
Communication Skills: verbal and written skills with good import experience and global perspective
Organizational skills and ability to maintain priorities
Ability to multi-task
Attention to details
3+ years of work experience in manufacturing and or product development
Microsoft Office Applications
Educational Requirements: Fashion Design or Merchandising Degree or Diploma
Physical Requirements: Frequent lifting of mannequins during fit evaluations and carrying basket or garments to and from work stations, up to 15+ lbs.
