JOB DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
A. Display safety leadership. Follow and enforce all plant safety procedures and use all applicable personal protective gear. Ensures safety goals are achieved and maintained and continually improved upon. Use creative skills to demonstrate safe operation of equipment and processes, weekly Job Safety Analysis reviews, and observes and documents near miss/accident reports.
B. Must have customer service mentality. Will be involved in quarterly customer surveys, customer visit to monitor our performance, and follow up with customers regarding customer issues. All leaders in your department must be involved.
C. Manage the manufacturing, loading and quality of product assuring on time delivery. Ensure customer’s specific product requirements are met. Ensure the plant operates with the Central States Mission and Values. Coordinate all functions within the plant and for the shift(s) assigned. Provide guidance and leadership direction to the operations team and first line supervisors.
D. Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations. Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products. Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
E. Develops the human resources within responsibility area to achieve departmental goals. Performs employee evaluations. Implements the necessary manpower assignments to produce a quality product on time and within budget. Conducts interviews for positions within department. Ensures that manpower and budget is managed commensurate with the business profile and performance goals. Cross-train as directed and be willing to work at any production position in the plant. You must continually develop the skills and leadership qualities of the individuals within your department.
F. Quality Control. Perform all quality checks and ensure the highest quality in produced items. You must maintain the excellence in quality of our products that we have come to expect. This includes leading our RMA program within your department, set up and monitoring of quality control procedures.
G. Maintain a positive, flexible teamwork attitude with your Sales teammates to achieve the desired growth goals of the company.
H. Be willing and able to work various shifts.
I. Complete all other tasks as required or assigned by the immediate supervisor and/or upper management.
J. Lead the production department in the plant for the shift assigned. This includes all production and tracking all the production scorecard numbers (squares per hours, trim per hour, etc.)
K. Monitoring all production costs. Exhibit the desire and dedication to learn the financials and their impact on the company ROA score. Ability to lead financial review meetings and explain the monthly outcome; ability provide vision to foster and recommend changes in the direction of production and logistics to improve the financials.
L. Conducts interviews and assists in hiring decisions.
M. Supports all company policies and uses the progressive discipline system.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A. Proficient in Excel and Microsoft office
B. Minimum two-year degree, four-year degree preferred, and at least 3 years experience in a production leadership role or equivalent. Desire to advance further into leadership positions, plant management and/or Operations-GM role.
C. Effective written and verbal skills
D. Demonstrated support of company values and mission statement. Treats others with respect and dignity.
E. Self-starter with a high demand for quality.
F. Proficient or the ability to learn Central Scope computer software.
G. Ability to learn production operations.
H. Be able to stand for long periods of time and lift 75 pounds.
I. Be helpful, follow procedures, learn quickly, and be detail and customer oriented.

VACATION/PERSONAL DAY POLICY
One personal day will be accrued on January 1st, April 1st, July 1st and October 1st after 90 days of full-time employment.
MEDICAL & DENTAL INSURANCE
Employees are eligible for medical and dental insurance on the first day of the month following 30 days of full-time employment.
CAFETERIA PLAN
A cafeteria plan exists enabling employees to pay insurance premiums with pre-tax dollars. In addition, a medical savings account and childcare account are available within the cafeteria plan.
EMPLOYEE STOCK OWNERSHIP PLAN (E.S.O.P.)
CSMI is an employee owned company and employees receive stock allocations based on a percentage of wages in years they qualify based on the details of the plan.
401(k)
A 401(k) plan is in place for all employees who want to participate. The company will match 100% of the first 4% of wages the employee contributes to 401(k). An employee is eligible to enter the plan at the beginning of each quarter after the 90-day probationary period. Vesting in the company contribution is over a period of six years in which the participant works at least 1,000 hours per year. The employee is always 100% vested in his own contributions.
EDUCATION ASSISTANCE
At CSMI, we recognize that our employees’ skills and knowledge are critical to the success of our company. Therefore, we created our educational assistance program to encourage employees to maintain and improve their job-related skills through formal education. Our educational assistance program is available to all full-time employees who have completed 90 calendar days of service and meet the guidelines of our Education Assistance Policy. The maximum annual payable benefit through this program is $5,250.00 per eligible employee.
