Second Shift Panel Operator

Job Location: Cedar Hill, TX

Department: Production

Reports To:
Production Manager

JOB DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
A. Follow all plant safety procedures and use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
B. Ensure all quality checks are performed and documented properly.
C. Point out and coach team members on safety issues, such as forklift safety, plant safety rules, and safety rules around the rollformer.
D. Bring team members back from breaks and lunch on time.
E. Make sure retail seconds material is bundled when needed and team members follow the proper procedures.
F. When the oil barrel runs out, replace it with a new one, and pump the empty barrel of any remaining oil.
G. If a coil is rejected, cut samples off the material being rejected, fill out the coil reject form properly, weigh the coil, and place it in the proper area.
H. At the end of each shift, ensure panel shears are cleared off, scrim paper, craft paper, and cardboard is restocked, and the entire rollforming area is cleaned and swept.
I. Stack and band or brake down pallets as needed.
J. Empty the trash, cardboard, and metal dumpsters, at the end of each shift or as necessary.
K. Walk the racks at the end of your shift to check for damaged bundles, and ensure that all bundles have been marked properly, including bundle centers.
L. Track coversheets and cardboard on your daily run sheet.
M. Restock single and double boards at the end of each shift if needed.
N. Cross-train as directed and be willing to work at any production position in the plant.
O. Be willing and able to work various shifts.
P. Complete all other tasks as required or assigned by the immediate supervisor and/or upper management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A. Self-starter with high school diploma or equivalent.
B. Be able to read a tape measure, do basic mathematical calculations, and use a calculator.
C. Ability to learn production operations.
D. Be able to stand for long periods of time and lift 75 pounds.
E. Be helpful, follow procedures, learn quickly, and be detail and customer oriented.
F. Proficient in or the ability to learn Syteline and Symix computer software.

VACATION/PERSONAL DAY POLICY
One personal day will be accrued on January 1st, April 1st, July 1st and October 1st after 90 days of full-time employment.

MEDICAL & DENTAL INSURANCE
Employees are eligible for medical and dental insurance on the first day of the month following 30 days of full-time employment.

CAFETERIA PLAN
A cafeteria plan exists enabling employees to pay insurance premiums with pre-tax dollars. In addition, a medical savings account and childcare account are available within the cafeteria plan.

EMPLOYEE STOCK OWNERSHIP PLAN (E.S.O.P.)
CSMI is an employee owned company and employees receive stock allocations based on a percentage of wages in years they qualify based on the details of the plan.

401(k)
A 401(k) plan is in place for all employees who want to participate. The company will match 100% of the first 4% of wages the employee contributes to 401(k). An employee is eligible to enter the plan at the beginning of each quarter after the 90-day probationary period. Vesting in the company contribution is over a period of six years in which the participant works at least 1,000 hours per year. The employee is always 100% vested in his own contributions.

EDUCATION ASSISTANCE
At CSMI, we recognize that our employees’ skills and knowledge are critical to the success of our company. Therefore, we created our educational assistance program to encourage employees to maintain and improve their job-related skills through formal education. Our educational assistance program is available to all full-time employees who have completed 90 calendar days of service and meet the guidelines of our Education Assistance Policy. The maximum annual payable benefit through this program is $5,250.00 per eligible employee.
