Basis Purpose and Function:
Plans and directs all aspects of the organization's or division's sales processes, objectives, and initiatives for the Commercial Industrial division. Leads, supervises and directs the planning, sales goal achievement, gross margin goal achievement, and customer service functions. Leads sales managers in formulating and managing their sales budgets and financial results for their teams. Supports operations, trucking and administration departments by facilitating implementation of controls and procedures needed for the company to meet and exceed set goals. Manages all aspects of the sales function including inside sales, outside sales and customer service. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Reports to the President of the Company.
Job Position Description:
· Develop and maintain an employee relations program that will perpetuate Open Book Management and support our CSMI Value List and Mission Statement.
· Ultimately responsible for our marketing program and the way we go to market.
· Direct our sales efforts in Commercial/Industrial markets. Understand the role of a Territory Manager and Business Development Manager.
· Understand our product mix and create strategies that enhance our product mix as appropriate to meet business objectives.
· Ability to create and manage sales compensation plans, territory alignment, teambuilding, and territory/customer relations.
· Ability to contribute strategic recommendations for expanding our geographic boundaries.
· Responsible for Sales budgeting process from creating to achieving desired results. Measurable include, but are not limited to: sales goals, gross profit goals, mistake ratios, etc.
· Must maintain recruitment and development of sales and territory managers and the professional development/training of the sales team.
· Recommends to the company strategies and ways to improve the diversity, efficiency, value, and profitability of the company including specific plans and profit/cost analysis.
· Promotes positive employer-employee and customer relationships.
· Must have detailed market knowledge of the competition and the ability to direct our marketing efforts to compete with the strategies of the competition.
· Understand what makes our company different and profitable in the marketplace.
· Manage and lead the work of sales managers (and potentially marketing or product managers).
Supervisory Responsibility:
Directly supervises sales managers (and possibly marketing or product managers). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include performance appraisals, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving performance issues up to and including termination of employment.
Education/Experience (Minimum required.):
College Degree in Business Management or equivalent of education and experience. Ten years of Sales Management experience is preferred.
Other:
Periodic travel may be necessary to meet company needs.
Skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and legal documents. Effectively communicate information to all management and public groups. Individual must possess the skills in organization and time-management necessary to accomplish sales and business objectives and meet deadlines. Computer skills are required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products and an ability to learn Syteline for reports, order entry, pricing, etc. Must be able to consult and advise small business owners. Sales proposals must be based on sound financial strategy rather than solely on relationships.

VACATION/PERSONAL DAY POLICY
One personal day will be accrued on January 1st, April 1st, July 1st and October 1st after 90 days of full-time employment.
MEDICAL & DENTAL INSURANCE
Employees are eligible for medical and dental insurance on the first day of the month following 30 days of full-time employment.
CAFETERIA PLAN
A cafeteria plan exists enabling employees to pay insurance premiums with pre-tax dollars. In addition, a medical savings account and childcare account are available within the cafeteria plan.
EMPLOYEE STOCK OWNERSHIP PLAN (E.S.O.P.)
CSMI is an employee owned company and employees receive stock allocations based on a percentage of wages in years they qualify based on the details of the plan.
401(k)
A 401(k) plan is in place for all employees who want to participate. The company will match 100% of the first 4% of wages the employee contributes to 401(k). An employee is eligible to enter the plan at the beginning of each quarter after the 90-day probationary period. Vesting in the company contribution is over a period of six years in which the participant works at least 1,000 hours per year. The employee is always 100% vested in his own contributions.
EDUCATION ASSISTANCE
At CSMI, we recognize that our employees’ skills and knowledge are critical to the success of our company. Therefore, we created our educational assistance program to encourage employees to maintain and improve their job-related skills through formal education. Our educational assistance program is available to all full-time employees who have completed 90 calendar days of service and meet the guidelines of our Education Assistance Policy. The maximum annual payable benefit through this program is $5,250.00 per eligible employee.
