Description:
The Denver Area Council, Boy Scouts of America is currently filling several part time Program Aide positions. The job openings are designed to assist non-traditional (21+ years) college students acquire employment experience and career mentoring while earning their degree.
These positions are reserved for individuals interested in pursuing managerial-level positions and will be enrolled in a degree-seeking program at a local college or university.
Job Description
Program Aide - Part time work during the afternoons and early evenings
Responsibilities:
Provide after school programming at local elementary schools
Compensation:
$10 per hour
Partial Tuition Reimbursement
Receive up to $2,500 per year
Career Mentoring
Job Counseling
Qualifications
21years of age (required to be registered as an adult leader)
Must be attending college no later that the Fall of 2009
Experience working with youth. Past experience with the BSA is not necessary.
Ability to work independently
High degree of self motivation and self management
Ability to motivate and inspire
Strong organizational skills
Expectations:
Enrollment status at a fully-accredited post-secondary program
Availability between 2:00 – 5:00 PM
Minimum commitment of 3 afternoons per week
Reliable transportation
A background check is required of all program participants
Professional appearance and demeanor
