Job Location: Huron, SD

Performs independent evaluation, selection and application of standard Industrial Engineering techniques, procedures and criteria using discernment and ingenuity. Study and recommend how the company should allocate its limited tangible resources (equipment and labor) within the framework of existing physical plant constraints; eliminating the waste of: labor, materials, utilities, product (yields) and other resources.Primary functions but not limited to: 1. Ensure the generation of accurate key process indicators (through reports): Measuring line utilization, yields, line efficiency, changeover effectiveness, waste and rework, throughput rates and labor cost per pound on each item produced.2. Develop and monitor Std labor manning by line or process and efficient use of labor force.3. Perform and summarize time studies / work measurement in coordination with layout and methods improvements, to establish and/or maintain throughput capacity (pounds / hour) and manning requirements for direct and indirect labor jobs. Create standard data. Monthly review of skill and effort rating films, to refresh rating ability.4. Generate, investigate, calculate and Document savings for cost reduction and avoidance projects that reduce labor, pkg, ingredient, R and M, utilities, and misc costs and improve efficiencies, yields and throughput.5. Support the new product development by estimating labor cost for Further Processing and Ready-to-Eat departments, for new; processes, equipment, slicing and pack types (50%)6. Initiate proposals and provide alternatives to increase productivity. Follow-up on projects and proposals to see that they are attaining desired results. 7. Input IE data (std labor and throughputs) to SAP system for new and updated products8. Analyze savings and write justifications for Capital Appropriation Requests, showing pack-back period and return on investment. 9. Recommend and Implement the utilization of ergonomic, labor-saving fixtures / equipment and or devices to reduce labor, increase yields, reduce waste and increase throughput.10. Assist plant engineering to relocate existing equipment and or installation of new equipment, using AutoCAD skills.

Preferred candidates will possess a B.S. degree in, Industrial Engineering or Ind Technology and or a minimum of 3 to 5 years industrial engineering experience in a food manufacturing environment.
