Computer Information Sciences Department Head

• Developing and Coordinating Academic Programs
• Student Retention/Outcomes
• Faculty Mentoring and Development
• Management and coordination of Assistant Department heads, their duties and responsibilities
• Term by term academic schedule coordination through monitoring the CIS Asst. Department Heads student registrations in order to maximize student needs and instructor usage
• Providing hands-on classroom instruction and preparing/utilizing approved lesson plans
• Providing for the care of supplies and equipment and submitting repair/purchase requests in a timely manner
• Implementing evaluation devices of student learning and externship experience to measure progress and competency
• Evaluating student competence based on program philosophy and objectives
• Monitoring student progress/grade reports and meeting with at risk students with a goal of helping them to be successful
• Attending and participating in faculty meetings, holding regular department meetings
• Maintaining professional qualifications through participation in continuing education programs and academic courses
• Participating in campus events to include open houses, student awards ceremonies, and graduation ceremonies
• Other duties as assigned

• Work experience in Computer Information Science related field
• Teaching experience preferred in the discipline of Computer Information Science
• Masters degree in Computer Information Science or related field preferred
