Position Title: School Crossing Guard (Part-Time) Open until Filled Opening Date: 01/21/2013 Closing Date: Salary: $8.00 per hour
DESCRIPTION OF JOB
This employee works part-time during the school season under the supervision of the Police Department. Duties include assisting students across the street at assigned intersections near elementary schools; directing traffic to best protect the students; and maintaining safety procedures at the designated street corner. Crossing Guards work approximately 10 hours per week.
STANDARDS FOR INITIAL CONSIDERATION
Ability to work with school age children.
Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Knowledge of safety procedures.
Must have a High School diploma or GED
Must have a valid KS drivers license
Must be a resident of Lyon County or willing to relocate upon employment.
Must pass a drug/alcohol screening test after a conditional offer of employment.
