Job Description: Energy Systems Group (ESG) is seeking a highly motivated individual as a Field Service Power Generation Technical Specialists to support multiple generation sites located within 60 miles of Green Bay, WI. Candidates should possess a safety mentality, mechanical and electrical aptitude, and be able to communicate well and work well with others. They should also be familiar with basic computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Office) and be able to use and create documents, including procedures and instructions. They should have the ability to follow and communicate complex instructions, possess effective written and verbal skills to communicate with colleagues, and be able to demonstrate proficiency in these areas from prior work experiences. Following are qualifications needed: Experience with diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repairs of electrical generator systems, engine failures, and utility transfer switches and switchgears Repair and maintain commercial diesel and gas generators up to 750kw Perform generators and engine maintenance Comprehensive understanding of electricity, electrical controls, generator sets and power distribution Ability to interpret repair work orders, requisition parts and supplies, and complete necessary reporting to accomplish the required repairs Ability to read instructions, parts information, and communicate effectively with employees and customers Ability to use a computer, good keyboarding skills, and knowledge of window-based programs Maintain an inventory of parts, supplies and literature Comply with the companys safety standards and policies Must hold a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record Must be willing to be on call and work at multiple site locations May require overnight stays and/or non-business hours to support project requirements General maintenance on generators, including changing oil and keeping units in good running condition Orders materials, tools and instruments from vendors Prepare reports and maintain records on equipment and preventive maintenance Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of equipment Complete necessary paper work timely and accurately Utilize mathematical formulas to determine both nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements. Knowledge in reading and understanding schematics Comply, practice and promote companys safety standards and policies; and working conditions in accordance with OSHA required regulations
Job Requirements: Preferred Associate degree (AA or AS) or Technical degree and 5 years related experience. Minimum High School Diploma or GED & 3-5 years related experience. Minimum 3 years experience- Power Generator & Diesel Mechanic Computer skills: Microsoft products including Word, Excel, and Outlook Self motivated and directed HVAC knowledge-Coolers, Chillers and Cooling towers a plus Strong mechanical aptitude & strong interpersonal skills Must be able to work independently EOE m/f/d/v Hiring Manager: Exemption Type: # of Hires Needed: 1 Wage Amount
