Description:
The Application Architecture Product Manager is responsible for managing the operational activities of the Application Architecture group. This role requires experience in understanding the technical architecture of a Global IT organization including development methodologies utilized, technical standards in place, application program development alternatives, and system development life cycles.
Hands-on resource with a proven track record in managing global technical architecture programs. financial systems. Experience should include managing both the development as well as the delivery of Enterprise technical architectural strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Direct the continual upgrading of procedures and equipment to maintain currency with technological progress, economic change and business needs.
- Provide linkage between technical and business management on a variety of complex initiatives by integrating the business and IT architecture strategies and developing recommendations for senior business and IT management.
- Direct new international and domestic architecture initiatives.
- Recommend the selection of and be responsible for the performance management of staff members.
- Consult with Global Application Services management in the analysis of short and long-range business requirements and recommend architectural projects which anticipate the future impact of changing business requirements, hardware, and software on Global IT applications and systems.
- Develop annual budgets and manage expenditures in order to operate within approved budget guidelines.
- Ensure that all projects stay on budget and within scope utilizing proper change management processes.
- Work with the appropriate Global IT groups to communicate and implement Global IT technical standards.
- Ensure effective policies and procedures are implemented for the organization.
- Coordinate project development activities of project team's leaders.
- Ensure the training and development of staff members and application portfolio architects to develop their skills and maintain state-of-the-art knowledge in their area of responsibility.
Qualifications
To qualify, candidate must have:
* an advanced degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
* Approximately 10-12 years of work experience in systems analysis and application program development. At least 4 of these years must have been spent managing application architecture teams.

- Negotiation (clients, vendors)
- Ability to work effectively across organizational and geographical boundaries
- Experience in the use of alternative staffing options
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage a team to deliverable completion
- Global deployment experience
* Technical Skills Required:
- Experience in .Net or Java architecture required
- Experience in developing enterprise level technical standards required
- Experience in developing a Service Oriented Architecture a plus but not required
- Good understanding of global infrastructure workings (networking, authentication strategies, information security, application performance considerations, directory services etc.,)
- Full application life cycle experience
