Description
The Campaign Manager has responsibility for supporting campaign design, development and management of direct marketing programs for the respective industry and functional practices. They recommend quality, management and success measurement of the function’s go-to-market and direct marketing initiatives and focuses on coordinating specific direct marketing activities. This position directly supervises the campaign management team that ensures all Ernst & Young communications are approved, formatted properly, and communicated accurately to the correct target audience via voice mail, print, e-mail distribution or multimedia content. The Campaign Manager can direct and adjust the workflow of junior members when urgent projects arise. This incumbent promotes teamwork through coaching and mentoring of subordinates.
Responsibilities
- Works with internal audience pillars and service lines or industry practices to develop direct marketing and campaign management plans.
- Consults with customers on using Ernst & Young distribution tools and methods and assists with identifying target populations and distribution and measurement requirements.
- Collaborates with the Data Quality and Management team on audience compilation.
- Ensure documents are formatted properly for distribution and performs quality tests, adhering to quality and compliance policies and branding guidelines.
- Coordinate campaign workflow for communications via voice, printed document or e-mail using Ernst & Young distribution tools and methods.
- Oversee quality execution of organization communications campaigns.
- Supports mailings, newsletters, media, public relations, and sponsorships and ensures that they are in alignment with the function’s strategy.
- Prioritize and delegate distribution campaigns.
- Continually improve work processes for the team, ensuring that direct marketing/distribution processes are accurate and efficient.
- Participate in market research projects as required.
- Assist and guide subordinates through mentoring and leadership.

This job has some latitude in decision making, provided that their activities are consistent with approved operating plans and objectives, and functional policies and precedents. The management direction given this job establishes the results expected, while the job determines how and when the results will be achieved based on needs of the client.
- Demonstrate understanding of advanced principles and concepts for the function’s direct marketing initiatives.
- Frequently works independently on campaign management and direct marketing activities.
- Act as a project manager for medium/large marketing initiatives, generally under the direction of the team leader (if applicable).
- Ability to quickly gain knowledge of the firm’s communication standards, an advanced understanding and application of principles and practices of distribution within the organization.
- Demonstration of a high proficiency in the use of the list management and marketing information system applications.
This position requires general supervision with periodic updates to supervisor/team leader. May modify some project steps to reflect work group needs without prior approval.
Supervisory skills including but not limited to delegating, coaching, defining expectations, teaming etc.
Travel or an extended work day is required as needed to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
To qualify, candidates must have:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Approximately 5-8 years of relevant experience is required, with ability to quickly gain strong knowledge of the Ernst & Young organization and standards
- Knowledge of direct marketing, e-mail marketing industry and best practices is required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong project management skills are required as position necessitates the ability to develop comprehensive internal and external direct marketing campaigns
- Proficiency with standard technology including Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes, and Internet
- Experience with relational databases, customer relationship management systems, and e-campaign management tools is required
- A basic knowledge of network architecture and infrastructure and an understanding of HTML, Access, and/or SQL are highly desirable
