Description
This position will manage Product Development for the EYG Portion of the Global Digital Channels Portfolio.
Position Summary:
The Assistant Director of Application Development is primarily responsible for managing development efforts of projects in the EYG sub-portfolio within the Global Digital Channels Portfolio, comprised of business sponsors based mostly out of London, UK.
This position will manage a team of 5 to 15 application developers and will require the management of detailed tasks on projects including requirements gathering, business analysis, scope, prototype development, documentation, application development, testing and deployment of solutions and schedule integrity.
This position is also responsible for maintaining customer relationships and expectations, understanding the customer's business, and participating in full-life-cycle development using a formal Application Development Methodology. In addition to project delivery, this position will be responsible for leading and mentoring project team members (matrixed and virtual) on methodology and technology as well as assessing team members' performance on projects. The successful candidate serves as a role model by promoting and demonstrating commitment to commonly adopted processes and development standards.
Essential functions of the Job:
· Advanced understanding of Application Development, Scope, Schedule and Planning, and Resource Management.
· Guide the development/develop documents to comply with the System Development Life Cycle methodologies (e.g. Project Charter, Project Management Plan, Requirements Specifications, Cost Benefit Analysis....)
· Create, Develop and Manage the project scope and schedule for simple to complex projects; Plans and assigns resources to associated tasks and deliverables as appropriate; Manages resources, tasks and costs based on project plan.
· Design and develop business applications; multi-tiered web and client server applications
· Consult with internal customer management regarding the identification, specification and impact of complex system requirements and processes, validation of business rules.
· Use knowledge of data modeling to determine client area application system requirements for new or modified application programs
· Ensure Application Development Methodology practices are adhered to
· Prepare for and lead internal customer meetings and facilitated strategy sessions

Job Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
Experience:
· Minimum of 5 years experience in Project Management and Financial Management in complex environments.
· Experience working with diverse initiatives/projects.
· Extensive Project Management experience with state of the art application development solutions.
· Demonstrated understanding of business processes and how technology enables those processes.
· Proven ability to grasp complex issues to and to be responsive to customer requirements
· Ability to coordinate multiple diverse time sensitive tasks.
· Experience in program management including planning.
