Description
The Advanced Specialist Information Technology Architecture serves as the principal architect for business, development, technology, data, application or security architecture. This professional consults with heads of all Information Technology (IT) sections such as database, telecommunications, network planning, operations and technical support, and software development to identify and support strategic directions, major policy and directional technological plans. This role requires outstanding knowledge of the client area's functions and systems. The Advanced Specialist Information Technology Architecture must be competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of system design and implementation.
Responsibilities
- Utilize an in-depth knowledge of the organization's tactical and strategic business objectives, the technological environment, the organizational structure and strategic technological opportunities and requirements to consult with senior IT management regarding tactical and strategic business objectives.
- Lead or coordinate major enterprise-wide, mixed technological/functional strategic projects or initiatives.
- Work with IT section heads to integrate the business and IT strategic plans and requirements, and develop recommendations for senior business and IT management.
- Participate with and provide expert technical consultation to senior IT management strategic planning groups.
- Work with client management to identify and specify complex business requirements and processes.
- Provide highly technical leadership in identifying and implementing new uses of information technologies which support the firm's ability to meet its strategic objectives.
- Act as the expert technical resource to the information technology architecture staff in all phases of the development and implementation process.
- The Advanced Specialist Enterprise Architecture has a leading role in the development of the organization's Enterprise Architecture function, responsible for the implementation of an Enterprise Architecture framework and processes within EY.
- A sound understanding is needed of Enterprise Architecture frameworks and experience in applying EA disciplines to add value to the business, including the management of standards and permitted technologies. Given the nature of our organization and the virtual nature of this effort, strong relationship, leadership and communications skills are essential (must be a good team player), as well as a sound knowledge of our business strategy and processes. Individual must be able to demonstrate a broad knowledge across business, information, applications, security, and technology areas and also be experienced as a functional manager, capable of managing both a budget and resources.
Qualifications
To qualify, candidates must have:
- An advanced degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; or equivalent work experience
- Approximately 10-12 years of experience in information systems architecture methodologies
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Sound judgment and tact
- Ability to work effectively with clients, management and staff members
