Description
The Information Security Analyst assists in the management of activities and resources supporting the implementation, communication, monitoring, and maintenance of information security policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and construction of architectural information security solutions to facilitate the implementation of appropriate security measures into Ernst & Young's systems and products.
Provide clients, management and staff members with a high level of technical expertise and support in risk assessment and implementation of appropriate data security procedures and products.
Maintain an awareness of existing and proposed security standard setting groups as well as State and Federal legislation and regulations pertaining to information security. Communicate relevant information to appropriate management.
Lead the monitoring and evaluation of systems and procedures to protect the data systems and databases from unauthorized users.
Implement changes to procedures and systems to enhance data systems security.
Communicate security procedures to users.
Provide security-related data to the technology budget process.
Manage the continual upgrading of procedures and equipment to maintain currency with technological progress, economic change, and business needs.
Manage the monitoring, evaluation, and maintenance of systems and procedures to protect the data systems and databases from unauthorized users.
Support the Information Security team by reporting, analyzing, and resolving information security incidents.
Assist the Information Security team with communications, procedures, and coordinating the activity for conducting vulnerability assessments.
Assist in training other teams to develop their skills and maintain state-of-the-art knowledge in their area of responsibility as it relates to Information Security.
Assist in the implementation and management of the necessary controls and procedures to cost-effectively protect information systems assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure, or destruction.
Ensure the development, testing, and implementation of appropriate security plans, products, and control techniques.
Provide guidance and direction for the physical protection of information systems assets to other functional areas.
Provide reports to management regarding the effectiveness of data security and make recommendations for the adoption of new procedures.
Unique Responsibilities:
Coordination with IT representatives from multiple countries in a global environment.

Qualifications
To qualify, candidates must have:
- a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; or equivalent work experience; advanced degree preferred
- Approximately 2-5 years of experience in the security aspects of multiple platforms, operating systems, software, communications, network protocols, vulnerability testing, intrusion detection, and intrusion prevention. Experience with Anti-Virus and media encryption products preferred.
- Experience with processing change requests as they apply to security controls.
