Shift:
80/pp; M-F 8am-5pm. Requires schedule flexibility
Qualifications:
Current Minnesota RN License;
2 yrs RN experience in ambulatory/acute care setting;
BLS certification preferred or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment
Responsibilities:
The triage nurse provides professional nursing assessment, manages calls and provides care and advice to callers/patients. Triage is an encounter with a caller/patient in which a specially trained experienced nurse, utilizing clinical judgment and the nursing process, is guided by medically approved protocols to determine the urgency of the patient’s problem and to direct the patient to the appropriate level of care. This plan of care is developed in collaboration with the caller/patient and includes patient education and/or advice as appropriate and follow up as indicated to assure a safe outcome. The triage nurse must be able to demonstrate the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information to identify each caller/patient needs and to provide or direct the care needed.
