Elementary Instructional Supervisor / Frederick County Public School System

Job Description:
The Frederick County Public School System (K-12 enrollment 12,900 students; 24 sites) is seeking applications for the position of Elementary Instructional Supervisor. This award winning, highly successful school division cares deeply for its students and staff, maintains modern facilities, has a comprehensive curriculum, and offers a wide range of programs including regional special-education and career and technical offerings.
Qualifications:
Eligible for, or holds, a Virginia Postgraduate Professional License with endorsement in administration, supervision, curriculum and instruction, or elementary education; five years teaching experience at the elementary level, experience in building-level administration preferred, or any combination of education and experience in instructional supervision at the elementary level.
Essential Functions:
1. Provide leadership in the development and implementation of curriculum and instructional programs and accompanying instructional documents and staff development.
2. Work collaboratively with the central instruction team and other staff to assure K-12 curriculum alignment.
3. Recommend instructional materials and equipment for effective curriculum implementation.
4. Use data to assess and monitor program efficacy and achievement of division objectives.
5. Assist teachers and administrators with the delivery of an effective instructional program.
6. Implement a systematic plan for ongoing classroom assistance using a coaching model.
7. Assist teachers in using assessment data and other evidence of student achievement to improve their instructional effectiveness.
8. Recommend changes to the instructional program that will improve student achievement.
9. Work collaboratively with the central instruction team and other staff members to assure continuous positive gains in achievement for all students.
10. To perform other assigned duties related to instructional program development and implementation.
Salary Range:
$74,112-$96,324 (2007-08 salary scale. The 2008-09 salary scale has not been determined.)
