The Frederick County School System (K-12 enrollment 12,900 students; 24 sites) is seeking applications for the position of boy’s varsity head basketball coach at James Wood High School. This award winning, highly successful school division cares deeply for its students and staff, maintains modern facilities, has a comprehensive curriculum, and offers a wide range of programs including regional special-education and career and technical offerings.
Qualifications:
Successful coaching experience in the sport required. Minimum of 3 years preferred. Eligible for, or holds, a Virginia License with a secondary education endorsement preferred.
Responsibilities:
The position is a supplement assignment attached to a regular ten-month teaching position. It requires developing and maintaining an in-school recruiting program, developing a positive rapport with the school staff and community, working cooperatively with the coordinator of student activities and school administration, and establishing and coordinating the coaching duties and responsibilities of the coaching staff.
Salary Supplement:
Base for varsity head basketball coach: $4,907 (2007-08 salary base with adjustment for experience)
