Part-Time Remedial Teacher / Regional Juvenile Detention Center

Description:
The Frederick County Public School System (K-12 enrollment 12,600 students; 23 sites) is seeking applications for a part-time remedial teacher for the Regional Juvenile Detention Center. The individual selected to serve in this position will work with students, staff, and administration to improve students’ reading/math skills and to develop and implement a long-range plan for reading/math improvement in the school. The system is technologically sophisticated, maintains modern facilities and a comprehensive curriculum, and offers a wide range of programs including a regional special education program.
Qualifications:
* Eligible for, or hold, a Virginia License with an endorsement at the middle or high school level.
* Experience teaching reading and/or math at the middle or secondary school level and working with at-risk youth preferred.
Salary Range:
$26.43-$47.46 per hour
