Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of event planning, fundraising, annual giving, non-profit fundraising or related experience; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of event planning, fundraising, annual giving, non-profit fundraising or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and at least six years of successful public broadcasting fundraising experience.

This is a grant funded position with anticipated refunding. Grant CPB - CSG, 10-01-2007 to 09-30-2008.

Job Description
Reports to the Dean, Academic & Media Technology and Services. Responsible for: 1) the cultivation, solicitation, realization and retention of individual gift memberships to WGCU Public Media; 2) the cultivation, solicitation, realization and recognition of planned and major individual gifts on behalf of WGCU Public Media; and 3) planning and conducting special events aimed at fund raising and/or donor development. In collaboration with the Dean, develops and meets annual revenue goals.

Responsible for interpreting and ensuring compliance with national and state policies, rules & regulations, and laws pertaining to public broadcasting planned and major giving and general fundraising activities and for assisting in the development of pertinent local station policies.

Develops an annual fundraising plan and ensures that annual revenue goals are achieved through new and renewing individual memberships, major gifts, planned giving and special events. Manages the WGCU member database and uses it to monitor revenue and trends and to create reports that allow the Director and Dean to manage and meet revenue goals. Creates and manages all direct mail fundraising, member renewals, and email member communications in collaboration with the WGCU Marketing Department. Plans and manages on-air FM fundraising in collaboration with the FM Station Manager and coordinates on-air TV fundraising with the TV Program Director. Ensures that all membership services reflect the highest standard for customer service.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of non-profit fundraising, customer service strategies and a working knowledge of major and planned gift cultivation and solicitation. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Proven ability to deal with diverse constituents and to develop and manage special fund raising events. Ability to identify and nurture relationships with potential WGCU special donors.
