Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution in business, marketing, higher education, or related field and two (2) years of marketing and promotion, event planning, or related experience; or Masters Degree from an accredited institution in business, marketing, higher education, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited institution in business, higher education, or related field, and two (2) years of marketing and promotion, event planning or related experience; or Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in business, marketing, higher education or a related field and four (4) years of marketing and promotion, event planning or related experience. Experience using desktop publishing (Adobe InDesign, MS Publisher, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator) and MS Office software (word, excel, outlook).

Essential functions of the job include repetitive wrist motion typing on computer keyboard, typewriter or calculator. May require occasional lifting of 25 lbs. Ability to navigate across campus and travel throughout the community to attend required meetings or programs. Ability to work flexible hours including some weekends and evenings.

Job Description
Reports to the Director of Career Development Services. In collaboration with the Director and Assistant Director, will develop an overall marketing strategy designed to increase overall awareness of Career Development Services, increase usage by students and employers, and increase attendance at events. Oversees creation of department print and electronic marketing pieces, including brochures, posters, fliers, and instructional handouts, as well as banners and campus signage. Maintains working knowledge of desktop publishing software. Creates web-based marketing content for department site and oversees overall appearance of site. Maintains working knowledge of Red Dot (web design) system. Conducts the sale of advertising space to employers on department publications. Conducts outreach to student clubs and organizations to market our events and services.
Responsible for coordinating all aspects of career events, including employer invitations and online registration/payment, parking, logistics, catering, room set-up, support materials, staffing, and successful marketing and promotion to students. Events currently hosted by Career Services include: job fairs (spring and fall), Law School Fair, Medical School Expo, Etiquette Dinner, professional development workshops (Dress for Success), employer panels and information sessions, and on-campus interviews.
Responsible for developing new events to meet the needs of students. Represents FGCU Career Services in collaborative career events, including University and community events.
Serves as a liaison to the employer community in promoting our services and providing information on how they can best market their opportunities to students and alumni. Conducts off campus outreach activities as needed.
Advises students with basic job search skills, such as resume writing and interviewing. Delivers classroom presentations to students on our services and the job search process.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of and ability to plan large-scale events. Ability to work with college students. Must possess excellent oral, written, and presentation skills. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Knowledgeable in recruiting/hiring practices and job market trends. Proficient in MS Office (word, excel, outlook). Knowledge of and ability to use desktop publishing software (i.e. Adobe InDesign, MS Publisher, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, etc.) Familiarity with web design or ability to learn. Equally adept at working autonomously and as part of a team. Ability to provide supervision to student workers.
