Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in communications, instructional design, education or a related field and two years of appropriate experience; or Master's degree from an accredited institution in communications, instructional design, education or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications
Four or more years experience working with faculty to develop E-Learning courses. Experience designing Web-based and other E-Learning applications highly desired. Experience in presenting and coordinating faculty development programs in a university setting. Experience as an instructional designer/developer on technology-based materials development projects, preferably within a college or university setting. Experience in action research and program evaluation. Instructional experience at the collegiate level desired.

Job Description
Promotes innovation in the use of E-Learning so as to assist learning, teaching and research. Provides assistance for faculty wanting to integrate technology into instruction and research activities. Utilizes instructional design principles for the development of E-Learning resources and materials. Collaborates and communicate with faculty on selection of appropriate instructional technologies, delivery strategies, and pedagogy.

Designs and develops E-Learning courses. Utilizes industry standard learning management system and Web design technology, including Dreamweaver, HTML, and Photoshop, to construct E-Learning courses. Produces, independently or in collaboration with creative staff, content and resources appropriate for use in E-Learning.

Supports faculty and staff in the use of instructional technologies and software applications. Assists with training workshops and seminars in the use of course management software, E-Learning pedagogy, and other topics. Provides assistance to faculty and staff on E-Learning technology related issues. Develops and/or updates tutorials and online resources.

Performs evaluation and assessment of implemented E-Learning resources for the purpose of improvement-Investigates the latest research and trends for best practices. Designs evaluative methods to measure effectiveness of training, materials and courses. Analyzes data and provide preliminary recommendations for change in consultation with Assistant Director of E-Learning and Director of Web, E-Learning and Publication Services.

Documents and manages resources and other information collected for E-Learning projects. Helps develop plans and timelines for completion. Assists in evaluating and assessing the effectiveness of instructional technology and E-Learning. Collects and files reports for updating completion status of E-Learning initiatives. Researches and procures course materials for E-Learning projects. Serves as project leader on assigned projects. Performs other related duties as assigned

Assists in setting departmental policy regarding course development, courseware selection and the operational procedures of the department.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated ability to both lead and participate as a member of team projects. Knowledge of software tools used for developing media, including Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Learning Management Systems. Demonstrated ability to learn software tools used to create E-Learning course materials. Knowledge of adult education principles and practices. Strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively within an academic community. Ability to manage and meet deadlines. Excellent customer service skills.
