Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited institution in hospitality, recreation, leisure studies, sports management, business, or closely related field and 5 years experience in golf course management including rules of golf and professional conduct, demonstrated ability to play golf at a high level, or a combination of education, experience and training that would be equivalent to the required knowledge and skills.
Must be Active PGA Class A Professional experienced in PGA Professional Golf Management Programs
Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral degree in hospitality, recreation, leisure studies, sports management or closely related from an accredited institution in an appropriate discipline.

Job Description
The position reports to the Resort & Hospitality Management Program Director. Directs the golf management program at FGCU, which is part of the College of Professional Studies, Resort & Hospitality Management Program. The primary responsibility is the administration of the University PGA/PGM accredited golf management program and curriculum development of the PGA required golf management courses. Primary liaison between University and PGA. Responsible for the maintenance of accreditation, administration of the program and student recruiting. Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate program faculty and staff as applicable. Direct and assist in student recruiting and building relationships with high school counselors, athletic directors, golf coaches, PGA professionals and junior golf officials. Counsel and guide students through matriculation in fulfilling the professional requirements of the program. Track and report student performance in the PGM/PGA training program, work experience aspects of the internships and playing ability test (PAT) and recruit and assign instructional faculty and staff to professionally-focused courses in the academic program. Budget preparation and maintenance in keeping with University regulations, policies, and procedures. Program policy and procedure implementation, curriculum development, academic advisement, implementation of personnel policies and procedures, and golf course access. Teaching, guiding and mentoring PGA/PGM student self study courses. Teach golf program academic courses and professional development courses and seminars. Develop publicity for program, participate in fundraising activities. Maintains and works collaboratively with the appointed golf industry advisory board and local area/regional golf courses/clubs.
