Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in Genetics from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent accreditation. Broadly trained geneticist with research experience in different areas, which may include: Molecular Genetics, Ecological Genetics, Population Genetics and/or Quantitative Genetics. ABD will be considered if degree is conferred by August 2010.

Preferred Qualifications
Postdoctoral research experience, teaching experience at the undergraduate level, and rank-appropriate record of publications.

Appointment will be made on a 9-month multi-year appointment basis available August 2010.

General Summary Statement:
Your initial assignment will include teaching, at both graduate and undergraduate levels; course and/or curriculum development; research/scholarship; involvement on College and University committees and/or initiatives; as well as duties as assigned. A&P/Faculty Job Responsibilities
Duties
Teaches undergraduate courses in Genetics, General Biology, and other courses in the Biology major as required by departmental needs and commensurate with the individual candidate's expertise. Develops course in the candidate's area of interest within Genetics. Excels in teaching and develops a strong undergraduate research program. Works closely with other faculty members to implement a growing undergraduate curriculum and to prepare for a graduate program. Other duties will include continuation of professional development and service.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Committed to excellence in teaching and possessing the desire and ability to develop an active research program with undergraduate students. Ability to interface with organismal and molecular biologists and complement faculty interests in biotechnology, ecology and/or evolutionary biology.

Experience or commitment to the use of technology in distance learning & university teaching. Interest in collaborating both within and outside the University in the development and delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning. Must value continued scholarship and service to the school and university.
