Truck Driver II

1. Operate a motor grader with blade to maintain smooth road and ditch conditions with proper slopes, crown, and width.
2. Operate a tractor with mower attachment to mow weeds on public road rights-of-way and property.
3. Operate a motor grader with blade and/or plow attachments to remove snow during winter weather conditions.
4. Operate a pick-up truck for road condition survey.
5. Operate heavy duty vehicles as assigned to assist with road maintenance and construction work.
6. Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on assigned equipment and vehicles, to include checking fluid levels, lubrication, and fuelling.
7. Properly attach plows, blades, and mowers to equipment.
8. Accurately maintain vehicle and equipment maintenance records.
9. Respond to change productively and complete other tasks as assigned.

1. Proficiency in operating a motor grader and tractor with mower.
2. General knowledge of equipment maintenance and service procedures.

1. Minimum of one year of experience in road construction and maintenance work with some motor grader operating experience.

1. Ability to sit for long periods of time.
2. Physical agility to safely operate and maintain vehicles and machinery.
3. Ability to install equipment weighing in excess of one hundred pounds.
4. Ability to complete maintenance records.

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid Kansas driver license.
3. Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
