Position Overview:
The Industrial Engineer’s primary responsibility will be to perform analysis related to complex manpower, material, machine, and floor space requirements. The Industrial Engineer will also develop, analyze, and present project information, as well as coordinate implementation of projects, develop programs for effective cost control, partner with other areas to complete projects, and conduct special studies. This position will manage and coordinate the work of the industrial engineers.
The Industrial Engineer will also provide input on special projects related to facility-wide systems and recommend systems and process enhancements to improve productivity.
Essential Functions:
* Understands each processing area in a SC
* Understands basic cost control objectives
* Familiar with process in all SC's
* Works to avoid software mods by suggesting and pursuing acceptable work arounds
* Works to develop common procedures across all SC departments
* Designs or participates in the design of acceptance tests for all mods
* Trouble shoot SC problems to determine if they are procedural or system problems
* Understands supply-chain issues out side of the SC including EDI, crossdock, etc. Able to write clear, concise, easy to interpret procedures for existing and proposed processes
* Writes clear project update communications
* Able to write or improve documentation for vendor supplied systems
* Able to speak with Engineers to identify improvements
* Able facilitate problem solving meetings
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline required. Minimum of three to five years of industrial engineering experience. One to two years of industrial engineering experience in a retail apparel distribution or manufacturing distribution environment preferred.
