Duties:
This is a developmental position designed to provide training, knowledge, experience, and skills for advancing to the next higher-grade position. Maintains control of and accounts for the whereabouts and safety of children and youth. Assists in providing and leading planned activities for program participants. Helps establish an environment, which promotes positive child and youth interactions with other children, youth and adults. Helps prepare, arrange and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials to accommodate the daily schedule. Uses prepared curriculum/program materials and assists with developing a list of needed supplies and equipment. Interacts with children and youth using approved guidance and techniques. Interacts professionally with staff members, parents and the Command. Supervises children and youth during daily schedule of activities and special events.

About the Position:
This can be an Intermittent (Flexible) position. Flexible employees may work 0-40 hours per week on a scheduled or unscheduled basis. Flexible employees are ineligible for insurance, retirement, annual and sick leave benefits.

Qualifications:
* FOR ENTRY LEVEL: 1. High school diploma or GED certificate. FOR SKILL LEVEL: The above, plus possess three (3) months experience working in a group program with children and/or youth. - Completion of Army Entry Level Training Certificate (Air Force/Navy equivalent) OR -One year of education above high school level which included nine (9) semester hours of college credit in early childhood/elementary/secondary/special education, child/youth development, psychology, human development, youth program administration, recreation or related behavioral sciences, or one (1) year vocational certificate in childcare. FOR TARGET LEVEL: The above, plus Meet skill-level requirements and demonstrated satisfactory performance. - Possess twelve (12) months experience working in a group program with children and/or youth. - Completion of Army Foundation Level Training Certificate (Air Force/Navy equivalent). OR - Meet entry-level requirements as stated in Job # AM300 - Two (2) years of education above the High School level, which includes twelve (12)- semester hours of college credit in early childhood/elementary/secondary/special education, child/youth development, psychology, human development, youth program administration or related behavioral sciences. * Be 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
* Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
* Be able to communicate in English (both written and verbal).
* Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, walk, bend, and stoop and stand on a routine basis. Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.

* All required background checks of AR 215-3, must be successfully completed and maintained including Child and Youth National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI); to include a health assessment is required.
