Duties: Serves as Administrative Contracting Officer responsible for the administration of group contracts such as fixed-price with incentives, cost-plus fixed fee, orders against basic ordering agreements, commercial contracts, and hybrid contracts containing a mixture of types and provisions. Cost or pricing proposals generally cover long-term contracts of two or more years. Contractor performance, estimated costs, pricing systems, financial policies, and cost control procedures are monitored, analyzed, and evaluated in accordance with financial and contract administration requirements. Decisions made are binding upon the Government and must be based upon a broad knowledge of acquisition management, Government contracting law and regulations, contract termination procedures, generally accepted accounting principles, cost and pricing policies, industry practices, processes peculiar to defense contracting, and sound business judgment
About the Position: Individuals in this three-year Emergency-Essential (deployable) status can expect to deploy TDY overseas as mission requirement are determined. DCMA offers one a real opportunity to help ensure that products and services purchased by Federal and allied governments are of specified quality, are within cost, and delivered on time. Selectees must pass a medical exam, which includes vaccinations (e.g. anthrax, smallpox and malaria). *They receive pre-deployment training and generous pay and benefits. Qualifications:
General Schedule
· BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution AND at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management. In addition, applicants must possess one year SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE equivalent to the GS-11 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience in contract administration, contract negotiation, monitoring contractor performance for compliance and final closeout of contracts.**Candidates who do not provide this information will not be referred. Note that civilian personnel currently in DoD, who occupied a GS-1102 position or a contracting officer position with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold on or before September 30, 2000, are excluded from the education requirement.**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Tour of Duty: Other, FLSA: Non-Exempt, Bargaining Unit: Yes, **NOTE**These positions are designated Emergency-Essential (E-E). In event of a crisis situation, incumbent will be subject to deployment on a TDY basis to overseas duty location(s) to perform assigned duties particular to the deployment. Failure to deploy when required may result in separation from Federal Service. After completion of 3 year assignment, employee will be placed in a non-E-E position at the non-deployed occupational series and grade level. Employees may also reapply for E-E assignment. ** Selectee for E-E positions are required to be exempt from recall to the military Reserves or recall to active duty for retired military.**Upon deployment, the employee will receive danger pay and foreign post differential as authorized for the overseas location to which deployed. The employee will receive overtime pay or compensatory time off, as ordered and approved by management, subject to the annual maximum earnings limitation on premium pay established in 5 CFR 550.106.** Tentative offer for employment will be rescinded if the selectee does not qualify for a secret clearance. Selectees will be hired at the GS-12 grade level and will be TEMPORARILY PROMOTED TO THE GS-13 GRADE LEVEL UPON DEPLOYMENT TO AN OVERSEAS LOCATION, subject to meeting applicable Qualification and Time in Grade requirements. Upon completion of the deployment, the employee will be returned to the non-deployed position, at the non-deployed grade level.

· Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
· Position is designated as Emergency Essential.
· A medical examination is required.
· Immunization screening is required.
· Must comply with Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements.

· If selected, official college or university transcript must be submitted.
· License/Certification: Must obtain DAWIA Level II Certification within 24 months of EOD.
