Duties: Serves as Senior Logistician for aviation and is proficient in all aspects of logistic assistance mission activities. Must have experience and training with BLACKHAWK UH-60, APACHE AH-64, KIOWA OH-58D, CARGO CH-47, Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) or Aviation Ground Support Equipment (AGSE). Applies a practical knowledge of the characteristics, properties, use of equipment, logistics concepts, data collection analysis, maintenance/supply management principles and must be capable of imparting this knowledge to supported unit personnel. Incumbent is required to maintain worldwide cognizance of significant supply/maintenance actions having an impact on the readiness of supported systems. Provides logistics assistance to Logistics Assistance Representatives (LARs) and support units by investigating, coordinating, and recommending solutions to problems affecting deployed weapon systems. Duties and responsibilities are part of the AMCOM Logistic Assistance Program as required by AR-700-4.

About the Position: Personnel hired for these positions are assigned to various locations worldwide, in more than 25 states to include Alaska, Hawaii and various locations within Germany and Korea. These jobs provide the opportunity to see the world and experience various lifestyles and cultures within the United States and overseas. Additionally, selectees are privileged to serve alongside their country’s armed forces in the struggle for freedom. The majority of these positions will initially be filled at locations within the United States with subsequent overseas deployment and permanent change of station moves to and from overseas locations.

Qualifications:
General Schedule
· Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant to perform the duties of this position such as: (1) Knowledge of a broad range of logistic relationships, and significant expertise and depth in aviation maintenance and supply management. (2) Knowledge of specialized methods and techniques to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of logistic programs and/or operations. (3) Ability to resolve weapon systems interface and major item non-mission capable hardware and software problems/faults. SELECTEE MUST MEET POSITION REQUIREMENTS OF CERTIFICATION OF LEVEL III IN ACQUISITION CAREER FIELD LIFE CYCLE LOGISTICS WITHIN 24 MONTHS OF ENTRANCE ON DUTY.
· GS-12 and above: One year of experience directly related to the occupation and equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. There is no substitution of education for experience at this level.
· The experience described in your resume will be evaluated and screened for the Office of Personnel Management's basic qualifications requirements, and the skills needed to perform the duties of this position as described in this vacancy announcement.
· Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must meet the Time in Grade Restriction.
· Must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade (or equivalent).

· Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
· May require overtime work.
· This is a Career Program Position (CP). # 17
· Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
· Temporary Duty (TDY) travel is 40 percent.
