Duties:
Assesses patient condition and response to medical and nursing plan of care. Collects patient data, to include both subjective and objective information, through observation, verbal communication, physical examination, laboratory studies, review of records, charts, and doctor's written and verbal orders to establish priorities of nursing care and formulate nursing diagnosis. Develops written plan for patient care to meet nursing care needs as identified and diagnosed through the assessment process. This includes providing plans for nursing support and implementation of the medical care plan. Implements medical and nursing plans of care by carrying out specific nursing orders and procedures as indicated on plans. Evaluates progress and outcomes of nursing care plans to ensure proper quality and quantity of all nursing care provided. May function as a health care advisor/telephone nurse as necessary. Assists the physician during physical examinations.

This position is located at Irwin Army Community Hospital, Caisson Hill Road (Main Post), Fort Riley, KS.

This job provides the opportunity to serve as a Clinical Nurse to plan, implement and evaluate care given to all patients.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION: Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the Basic Requirements, applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Specialized experience is further defined as experience with nursing care concepts, principles, and practices to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to patients or other work typically in or related to the position being filled.

  • All Health Care Providers must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) Training and certification Current Advanced Life Support of other advanced certification does not supersede BLS completion.

  • Direct Deposit of Pay is Required.
  • Position requires employee to wear a uniform and/or protective clothing.
