Program Representative - Graduate Recruitment/Corporate Learning TOPEKA Job Type: Full Time Staff Location: Topeka-KS Salary: Salary Benefits: Full Benefits Job Description: Friends University seeks an outgoing and energetic person to fill a Program Representative position for the Graduate College of Friends University. This position secures prospective graduate student leads and follows-up with prospective students for enrollment in the graduate school programs offered at the Topeka Center of Friends University. The position secures, pre-qualifies, and enrolls prospective students to meet yearly enrollment goals in cooperation with the Dean, faculty and staff members of the Graduate School. As a corporate learning liaison, this position will also help identify area opportunities for short-term training needs that can be served by Friends University as determined by the Dean of the Graduate School. The Program Representative will: - Implement strategic marketing plan objectives related to enrollment goals in cooperation with other staff members. Develop, schedule, and staff recruitment activities including but not limited to: individual appointments, information meetings, contact with local companies and organizations to expand the presence of Friends in Topeka and surrounding areas, plan open house events and other recruitment events, and develop other initiatives in support of enrollment goals. Work as the lead recruitment professional to support corporate learning initiatives including dissemination of a corporate needs assessment tool and support for non-degree education options to be determined by the Dean of the Graduate School in cooperation with the Center Director.
- Provide daily communication, both written and verbal, regarding graduate programs to prospective students, area businesses, and other targeted populations. Assist prospective students with information on options available for appropriate graduate-level offerings available at the Topeka Center and on-line. Assist students with the completion of application and admissions procedures in the graduate school and overall tracking progress in enrollment process. Document recruitment activity in Banner computer system.
- Facilitate orientation sessions for new students in graduate programs in cooperation with Topeka and Wichita Staff, work in cooperation with undergraduate program representative to ensure adequate coverage at internal and external recruitment activities, participate in university meetings and training in Topeka and Wichita, and assist current students, faculty and staff with university policies and/or referrals to appropriate departments.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work hours are normally between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and average 45-50 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend hours will be required for information meetings, special events, and community outreach. Travel to companies, community colleges, the main campus and other off-side campuses is required on occasion. Skills/Requirements A bachelor`s degree in marketing, public relations, communications, business, or related area is required; master`s degree is preferred. A minimum of two years` experience in student recruitment and/or marketing, sales, public speaking required; experience in an academic discipline or higher education is preferred. Business-to-business sales experience is a preferred. Computer proficiency necessary (Microsoft Office and Banner preferred). Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills are necessary as well as the ability to maintain confidential information in a professional manner.
