Job Description:
The Design Engineer will participate in applying engineering principles and concepts in support of the Water Business Line Group (WBLG). WBLG project components include a variety of water, wastewater, and water resources evaluation, planning, and design. Projects can include conventional and advanced water and wastewater treatment plants; wastewater collection systems and water distribution systems, including pump stations and appurtenances.
Job Duties:
100% of time: With supervision, perform assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles. Use fundamental engineering concepts, practices, and procedures to perform specific and assigned tasks. Work is reviewed for quality and as part of a mentoring process. Assignments and task can include identifying and evaluating alternatives; design of treatment processes; preparation of design plans, specifications and estimates; coordinating with design staff and other WBLG staff; preparing reports and other written communications; and supervising Cad techs in completion of drawings. Having knowledge of state and federal regulation requirements a plus.
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in appropriate engineering discipline, such as civil or environmental engineering, required. Masters degree in an engineering discipline is preferred. EIT desired with up to two years of experience. The Design Engineer must be able to obtain PE after meeting licensing requirements.
