Job Description:
Project Engineer will be responsible for performing a wide array of WBL planning, modeling, and design projects such as: water/wastewater treatment systems, including conventional and advanced process train plants; distribution systems, including conveyance and network piping, pump stations, storage units, and reservoirs; and collection systems, including interceptor, network and outfall piping, pump stations, and equalization facilities.
Job Duties:
Project Engineer must lead, mentor, and coordinate design teams consisting of multi-discipline design engineers and CAD technicians with the production of design phase deliverables including reports, technical memoranda, design manuals, plans, sections, details, and specifications.
Qualifications:
Project Engineer must hold a Bachelors degree in civil or environmental engineering from an accredited program. Masters degree in civil or environmental engineering preferred. Candidates must be a registered professional engineer (PE). Candidates must have the ability to obtain PE registration in all applicable states of practice. Candidates must be an active member of AWWA and WEF. Candidates will have 5 to 15 years of similar experience. Project Engineer must have a strong knowledge base of engineering principals including, hydraulics, hydrology, water chemistry, organic chemistry, micro-biology, conventional and advanced process technologies and associated equipment systems. Candidates must have a basic understanding of the multi-discipline practices (i.e. surveying, geotechnical, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & control) required for the implementation of water/wastewater facilities capital improvements. Candidates must have a strong understanding of the regulations associated with the Safe Drinking Water Act and Clean Water Act. Candidates must have strong communications skills as required to direct project teams and maintain client relationships. English is required as primary language. Candidates must be proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook. A working knowledge of distribution, collection, and process design modeling software tools is required.
