Job Description:
Office technician to process field survey data for design and final deliverables.
Job Duties:
Technician will be responsible for downloading and uploading field files from/to the data collector. Field data will be processed through InRoads for MicroStation deliverables. Candidate will perform public records research, issue utility locate requests, coordinate project questions with the field crews, type and proof-read boundary descriptions, manage electronic and hardcopy files and assist the licensed surveyor in other duties as required. This position will report directly to and be under the supervision of a licensed Professional Land Surveyor. Field site visits may be required from time to time to verify field information.
Qualifications:
Familiarity with Microstation, InRoads, SDMS Processor, Carlson SurvCADD & Trimble Geomatics Office with the ability to post-process GPS surveys is highly desirable. We will train a candidate with a strong background in CAD drafting but who has no MicroStation experience. Candidate should have three to five years of relevant and recent experience in this type of position. Candidate must possess the skills necessary to carry out the duties mentioned above. Knowledge of conventional and GPS surveying techniques is required. Position requires proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products such as Excel and Word. Clean driving and criminal records as well as a pre-employment drug screening are required.
Candidates with either an Associate or Bachelor's degree in surveying or a related science in addition to the required experience will be given additional consideration.
