• Conduct field walk downs to scope out all components necessary for planning maintenance work
• Plan and prepare work packages for work to be performed by crafts people in order to insure that the plan maintenance is performed in a safe, reliable and efficient manner
• Order parts and materials when needed
• Complete contract requisitions when required and complete payment authorizations when jobs are completed
• Oversee contractor work
• Maintain and build bills of material and other information stored in a computerized maintenance management system database
• Write model work orders for repetitive work
• Keep equipment files up to date
• Verify that parts are correct when they come in
• Provide leadership to improve reliability, reduce waste, and improve skills and effectiveness of maintenance resources  
• Create and update preventative maintenance procedures
• Insure that employees are trained in complex maintenance activities and are following standard operating procedures
• Back up the Mechanical Crew Leader

• High School Diploma or GED
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System
• 5 years of experience in a heavy industrial maintenance department or manufacturing facility
• Maintenance Planning/Scheduling experience
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems

• 2 year Mechanical Technology certificate or greater
• Experience in Coordinating and Supervising Contractors
• Working knowledge of effective preventive/predictive maintenance methods and processes
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical drive systems and components
• Working knowledge of proper methods and tools used in an industrial maintenance environment  
• Experience in a paper manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of precision maintenance and laser alignment techniques
