RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Dixie Consumer Products, a subsidiary of Georgia-Pacific Corporation, is currently seeking a Project Engineer to joint their team in Leominster, MA.  Located approximately 1 hour outside of Boston, the Leominster facility produces plastic Dixie cutlery.  The Project Engineer would be responsible for a wide range of engineering/project activities in an injection molding and packaging environment. This includes full life cycle project management of projects focused on the Market Based Management Philosophy. Further, this role would manage and forecast the facility capital budget, including spending, reporting monthly budget results, and anticipating future spending needs.  Work will require coordinating resources from various plant departments, corporate engineering, and outside contractors.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Prioritize safety as top responsibility and exercise Safety Decision Rights
  • Manage and own a wide variety of projects including injection molding and wrapping equipment as well as plant infrastructure, building and grounds
  • Responsible for planning project activity from conception through implementation including writing capital projects, tracking project budgets, ensuring on-time completion and coordination of resources
  • Forecasting and managing the facility capital budget
  • Work with and lead various high performance work teams in research and implementing improvement ideas and cost reduction programs
  • Support operations with activities such as developing standard operating procedures and participating in process improvement teams
  • Work with automation suppliers both domestic and international
  • Any other job assigned by supervisor         

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline to include Mechanical, Plastic, Electrical, Automation or Industrial
  • Exposure to Microsoft office and Microsoft Project
  • Must be able to work well independently and in a team environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exposure to SAP, AutoCAD, and Solidworks
  • Experience in project management
  • 1+ year(s) of experience in Project Engineering / Management role within a manufacturing environment

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES:

  • Must be safety conscious
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills
  • Able to lead and manage all phases of project management
