POSITION SUMMARY The principle focus of this role is to develop knowledge processes for converting technology that will preserve or improve the key performance attributes of the finished product. The focus is for high speed tissue and towel converting applications. Included in this role is the responsibility to identify, develop, and recommend new technologies for the converting process. The role will also focus on exploring technology options to improve current asset performance through development work utilizing both pilot and commercial equipment. Support the creation of value across the enterprise through the development of Intellectual Property strategies that include landscape investigation, invention disclosures and patent applications for relevant technologies. This role requires the individual to pursue technology discovery, experimentation and analysis with an inquisitive, creative and open-minded approach. This individual will be a key member of the Converting Innovation Technology Platform. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Advanced Engineering Degree (M.S. / PhD) in Engineering: Mechanical, Aero Space, Electrical, or Manufacturing. Available to travel up to 50%; including occasional international travel PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Internship, co-op, or work experience in an engineering discipline, particularly tissue/towel converting. KNOWLEDGE - SKILLS - ABILITIES Possess economic thinking skills that drive innovative solutions to deliver a competitive advantage to GP in the marketplace. Demonstrate the ability to act as an entrepreneur through the effective use of critical thinking skills, judgment and risk assessment to deliver the maximum value to the company.
