We are looking for an a Mechanical Engineer with Paper Plate Manufacturing Technology experience to join our Corporate Engineering team located in Easton, Pennsylvania. 

  

Basic Qualifications:

Required:

  • AAS in engineering with +10 years experience will be considered. BS degree in engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering related to paper plate manufacturing 
  • Ability to travel 50% of time

Preferred:

  • Experience with paper plate manufacturing machines, paper plate tooling design and design of paper plate packaging systems
  • Experience in leading projects 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Assist Dixie Consumer Products paper plate manufacturing facilities in maximizing long-term profitability by improving reliability, production, yield, cost, quality, compliance and EH&S (environmental, health and safety).  Key focus areas:

  • Improve performance of  paper plate machines and associated packaging assets
  • Develop and execute an innovation agenda for paper plate manufacturing technology
  • Design machine improvements
  • Design new machines
  • Design tooling for new products
  • Design paper plate manufacturing systems (production lines)
  • Lead and manage small and medium-scale projects
  • Project scopes, estimates and investment proposal write-ups
  • Equipment specifications, bid packages, evaluations and selection development
  • Field support including construction supervision and equipment commissioning
  • Report and communicate project status

 

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Expertise in the operation and troubleshooting of paper plate machines
  • Expertise in paper plate tooling design
  • Expertise in general machine design
  • Expertise in facilities layouts and automating manufacturing processes
  • Experience with leading trials
  • Able to deal with multiple issues simultaneously with sense of urgency
  • Strong computers skills in MS Office Suite, MS Project scheduling software, AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Able to successfully work in a team environment
  • Lead and facilitate meetings
  • Effective written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Strict adherence to safety rules and regulations
