We are seeking a proactive, self-driven Financial Analyst to support Operations Leaders at our Alabama River Cellulose Mill located in Perdue Hill, AL. This position is a great role for developing your finance and management skills in a dynamic manufacturing environment. In this role, you provide primary financial support to our pulp and paper mill (month end close, month end reporting, forecasting and cost tracking).
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated an understanding of financial analysis and cost accounting, as well as data mining capability with finance tools such as Excel and Access. Key qualities for success will include an inherent high level of integrity, and the effectiveness to communicate within the framework of our operating culture. A Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance is also a minimum requirement.
Responsibilities Perform financial closing procedures, analysis of results, financial reporting, and completing account reconciliations Prepare the monthly financial forecast for spending with ownership and input from operations Assist with capital vs. expense decisions Prepare investment proposals Assist with the maintenance and capital annual plan Play a role performing fixed cost allocations
Education Bachelor''s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance. Undergraduate GPA above 3.0 strongly preferred.
Basic Qualifications At least two years of experience in a Corporate or Manufacturing accounting environment. Prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word document creation, formatting and editing etc., Excel spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data manipulation/analysis and formulas creation etc, and PowerPoint presentation creation/editing).
Knowledge Skills Abilities Understanding of Cost Accounting and of a General Ledger. Conceptual understanding of design and purpose of internal controls. Financial acumen, basic understanding of how to interpret financial and operating data. Data mining capability in Microsoft Office Programs. Basic self-awareness and an understanding of how personal behavior impacts others. History of treating others with dignity and respect. Excellent communication skills. Proactive/self-driven work habits. Ability to see and implement opportunities for improvement.
