QUALITY LAB TECHNICIAN

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED:


High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 1 year lab experience
Experience with MS Office products
Ability to perform basic math calculations

PREFERRED:


3+ years of lab experience
Associates degree (or higher) in the sciences and/or mathematics
Ability to perform equipment maintenance and calibrations for the QA lab
Previous work experience in a shift environment

KEY RESPONSIBILITES


Familiarity with quality lab practices/techniques
Possess a solid understanding of the application of statistical and quality tools
Sample and Test baled and rolled fluff pulp according to procedure and schedule
Input quality data, verify accuracy and report results with strong sense of urgency
Perform calculations, enter data, assign quality, and communicate results and issues
Maintain clean, tidy, and orderly lab environment
Perform routine calibration checks on all critical lab equipment per the posted ISO specifications
Verify test accuracy and report inconsistencies to supervision
Work in and promote an effective team environment
Adhere to all plant health, safety, and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures
Authority to question suspect data
Willingness to work in industrial/manufacturing plant setting on a rotating 12 hour shift
Strong communication, planning and organizational skills
Maintain strict adherence to safety rules, LMS training, and compliance regulations
Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
Able to work with minimal supervision to complete testing accurately and quickly to maximize machine and production efficiency
Ability to lift 30 lbs, climb stairs, and ladders.
Willing to work in a tobacco free environment
